Northern Iowa senior teammates Makenna Wilson and Mari Shavers placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women's hammer throw competition at the NCAA Division 1 West Regional at Sacramento State. Wilson produced an opening-round mark of 21-8 (66.47m), with Shavers achieving a personal-best 215-2 (65.58m) in the third round to secure their berths in the June 8 final at the Division 1 championship meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
